Manual Lymphatic Drainage

(VODDER METHOD)

MLD is a highly specialized and gentle massage technique used to increase lymph flow and encourage the natural drainage of the lymph from the body tissues. This massage technique can help remove toxins and wastes from the tissues. Increased lymph flow will also help with immunity, reduce sinus congestion, reduce the risk of infection, and speed the healing of inflammation.  It is a very safe and effective technique that is useful for many conditions where lymph flow may be compromised, such as lymphedema, swollen limbs caused by a variety of different things, in diabetics, sports injuries, post surgical, etc.  For example, many clients require lymphatic therapy or lymphatic massage to treat the increased swelling and lymph accumulation that occurs after a mastectomy, or other surgical procedures, especially those where lymph nodes may be removed or damaged.

Essential aspects of an oncology massage therapist's skill set are an informed understanding of the disease itself and the many ways it can affect the human body; the side effects of cancer treatments, such as medications, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation; and the ability to modify massage techniques in order to adapt for these side effects, as well as for the disease itself.

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial cupping is a soft tissue therapy that creates a negative pressure or suction on the skin using cups that pull up underlying tissues, blood, and other fluids. It can be used to promote healing, reduce pain, and increase mobility by releasing tension and adhesions in the muscles and fascia.

Neuromuscular Massage

Neuromuscular therapy is a specialized form of deep tissue massage in which digital pressure and friction are used to release areas of strain in the muscle. These areas of strain are called tender or trigger points and are the cause of muscular pain symptoms.
